NSGF Research Studentship
(Posted Jan 13 2009) The Nova Scotia Gaming Foundation (NSGF) announced last week that it is accepting applications for a new studentship program. Aimed at innovative young researchers, the NSGF funding stream will provide up to $5,000 in financial support for Masters and PhD students who are pursuing the area of problem gambling in Nova Scotia.
"The NSGF is committed to building research capacity in the province," said Celeste Gotell, Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Gaming Foundation. "What makes this studentship so exciting is that it will contribute to the development of a whole new generation of young, problem gambling researchers. Ultimately, we hope their work will lead to a more complete picture of gambling in Nova Scotia."
Grants of up to $5,000 are available for Masters and PhD students who are pursuing research in the area of problem gambling in Nova Scotia.
The first round of NSGF Research Studentships will be awarded in April 2009 with applications due on February 6, 2009.
